Our story

Supporting kiwis for more than 100 years.

The Family Works vision is for Aotearoa New Zealand to be the best place in the world to grow up – a place where all tamariki are safe, families and whānau are strong and communities are connected.

We believe every person deserves respect, compassion and dignity regardless of age, background or belief. We work with children and families who have experienced trauma, family violence, separation, poverty and anxiety, to have a safer and brighter future.

Making a difference

Family Works support is tailored to ensure we’re working in a way that is right for the family, whānau and their specific circumstances. We know that by providing this seamless service, outcomes for families are improved and individuals become more resilient and better equipped for the future.

Our multi-disciplinary team are respectful, approachable and non-judgemental. By providing a wide range of professional support, we can address any number of challenges you and your family might face – from early intervention and prevention, to intensive casework and social services.

We will help you with:

  • Mediation and dispute resolution
  • Parenting education and support
  • Family violence prevention and safety
  • Counselling and therapy
  • Youth mentoring
  • Support service coordination

Our work would not be possible without the support of donations, grants, bequests and investments. All of our Family Works services are all approved providers of child, youth, family and community services under Section 396 and or 403 of the Children, Young Persons and their Families Act 1989.
