Tamariki & young people

He mokopuna, he taonga – It’s all about the kids.

At Family Works, we want all children to feel safe and grow up in a loving, healthy environment. It’s important for young people to be open about their thoughts and feelings and to seek help when needed.

Our specialised counsellors, mentors and group programmes support children and teenagers to address challenges and make good life choices.

The safety and wellbeing of children and young people is the primary concern. We work with families and whānau because we know that children and young people flourish in safe environments.

Family Works Child Protection Policy outlines our commitment to child safety and protection and our legal responsibilities. The policy also provides protocols for recognising and responding to actual and suspected cases of abuse and neglect. Please contact us for a copy of our child protection policy.

Group programmes

Our support for children and teenagers includes a range of fun and relaxed group programmes that focus on building self-esteem, having healthy relationships, dealing with difficulties and much more.

School based support

Family Works has programmes designed to support children at home and at school. Our social workers based in schools, work alongside the students, families and teachers to support our future generations.

Mentors & youth workers

Family Works mentors and youth workers act as role models for the children they support. They take a strengths-based approach to encourage positive decision making in order to strive for a brighter future for the child and their family.
